Biography of Maudy Ayunda






Maudy Ayunda(born Ayunda Faza Maudya; December 19, 1994), is an Indonesian singer-songwriteractress, and activist for education and youth-related interests.



 

Maudy Ayunda's first film role was in Untuk Rena(2005) alongside Surya Saputra. Her next film was Sang Pemimpi(2009), where she played the role of Zakiah Nurmala, the protagonist's love interest. Her song "Mengejar Mimpi" was featured on the soundtrack.





In 2011, Maudy appeared in two musicals, Rumah Tanpa Jendelaand Tendangan dari Langit. In 2012, she had a role in Malaikat Tanpa Sayap, alongside Adipati Koesmadji. Maudy released her debut album, Panggil Aku..., in 2011 that featured 10 songs, one of which she wrote "Tetap Bersama". In 2012, her vocal of "Perahu Kertas" was used for the soundtrack of Perahu Kertas.




She released her second studio album Moments on April 1, 2015. Beside that, she also released three singles: "Cinta Datang Terlambat", "Bayangkan Rasa" and "Untuk Apa" and earned a Multi-Platinum award 

for selling over 200.000 copies.






She got many awards from her career such as MTV Indonesia Movie Awards, Jakarta Film Festival, Indonesia Music Awards, etc.





Maudy was a runner-up in a speech competition at her school. She speaks EnglishIndonesianMandarin,and Spanish. After graduating from the British School Jakarta, Maudy enrolled at the University of Oxford to study Philosophy, Politics and Economics(PPE) and graduated in 2016.

In March 2017, she was appointed a spokesperson against modern slavery at the Vice Presidential Palacein Jakarta. Through her work, she shares the realities of modern slavery, to ensure the rights of women and men to live in freedom and dignity is respected and uses social media platforms to promote that message.

Maudy plays an ambassador's role in sharing the message to youth in the fight against modern slaverythat includes forced labor, marriage and dangerous labor. 





Lately, Maudy made headlines after announcing on Instagram that she had been accepted at two Ivy League universities, Harvard and Stanford, for her master’s degree.

As reported by tempo.costudying at Stanford Business school had been her dream, however Maudy was not sure she would be accepted at Stanford. As she was not sure about her chances, she chose to try Harvard, which was also a long-held dream of hers. 




But in the end, she chose Stanford as her next 
studies and be able to do a joint degree in MBA and Education.
